The week we made our first bentos...
This was the evening we spent over two hours making lunch for the next day...
This was personally my first experience with being bento making... which is probably why it took so long as we didn't really know what we doing half the time. I reckon it was worth it though :)

Preparation for Octodogs... and an attempt at sweet omelette mix

Carrots cut into some very strange shapes

Chinta's rainbow omelette... with red pepper and spring onion

Cooked carrots and courgettes

Octodog Party in a frying pan

THE FINISHED PIECE! - eaten with Rice <3 (of course)

Wimpy

Rachinta and I were once wandering around Billericay High Street when we came across a Wimpy! We hadn't eaten at one of these since we were teenagers so we decided to have our lunch there. As we remembered it, it was still the same mix of fast food and sit-down restaurant.
Menu; Complete with "Bender in a bun"We both went for the same quarter pounder with cheese with onion rings on the side. I can't remember the exact price but it came to about £6.50 each with a drink of coke.

We were (as we usually are) incredibly hungry. We enjoyed it because before we arrived, we were on the hunt for junk food. It wasn't a greasy burger and it filled a hole. However it wasn't quite as satisfying as we hoped or remembered. It was a little dry and there wasn't much overall taste. From then on, I haven't craved wimpy as much as perhaps some other burger places.

It was still a fun trip though. I'm glad we went and also glad that Wimpy are still around. There were other things on the menu besides burgers, the service was good and it was clean. I'm sure if you ordered the right thing it is well worth a visit.

"Je voudrais un croissant"
While I was in Brooklyn (New York), I went to Fabiane's Cafe and Pastry. This place was featured in a very funny show called Flight of the Conchords (season 1, episode 8 to be precise). I made my friend take me there because I was determine to complete my Flight of the Conchords solo tour. It is sad, but I thought what the heck, when will I get to go to New York again?
There were so many mouth watering choices such as Roasted Lamb Sandwich, Prosciutto Pesto, Roasted Egg Plant Sandwich and many more fancy sarnies. After hmming and aaahming, I've decided on Cranberry Chicken and I was not disappointed. Also, for its price of $7.65 (around £5.20), it's pretty damn good because it was massive. I had to sneak the other half back home to finish. Check out their menu.

Oh... Foux Du Fa FaSo, this baguette is filled with chunks of chicken, mayo, cranberries and walnuts. It was goooooooorgeous! It had the correct amount of mayo in it. It wasn't too soggy and it wasn't dry. Then you get this nice little crunch (that's the walnuts) and the sweet taste of cranberries...hmmmm. 10/10.
The atmosphere of the cafe was cosy and the service was good. Reason was when my friend came back from the laundrette, a waiter came by and asked if she would like her soup heated because it was served 15 minutes before. I thought that was a thoughtful gesture. The only downside I can think of is the size of the table we were at. It was rather cramped but I'd rather have a big plate of food if it meant for me to sit at a small table. The other thing was the iced coffee beverage. This was my fault of course. I guess I thought it was a good idea at the time. I definitely like my coffee milky with sugar. Hannah would completely disagree.
